Mentoring Children of Promise
MCOP is a program utilizing volunteer mentors and community partnerships to mentor with children of incarcerated or formerly incarcerated parents. This program seeks to act as a preventative resource for children by providing them positive role models to help minimize their chances of future incarceration. The program may be site-based or community based in nature and will utilize the BBBS one-to-one mentoring relationship model. The same application and screening process used in other BBBS programs will be used with volunteers and children in the MCOP program.
